(that's what I felt about it then, but now I know the poor chap must have been suffering).<BR/><BR/>It wasn't one of my better balls...being a wicketkeeper by nature who had to bowl in this match didn't help. The intended leg-cutter was a bit short...it pitched a couple of feet away from my toes and rose gracefully to be hit. The batsman sized it up...with a few range-setting aims before taking the actual shot. Would you believe it, my Dad ran about five meters to his left at square leg and somehow held on to the ball with his left hand despite all that rolling after the stumble. It was the finest exhibition of what lengths a parent would go for their children. I remember being pretty ashamed later to think that he was past it, but I did have to massage his sore muscles later than evening. <BR/><BR/>Was reminded of this stunner by your mention of stunners and fathers.
